Bodycare

I originally left this review for The Body Shop but I have now realised that it is Bodycare, as I am not a big fan of all body stuff this is an easy mistake to make but I can assure you all my other reviews are listed for the right place. It didn't help Bodycare and The Body Shop look very similar either.

Bodycare is a large shop in The Manchester Arndale centre with great selection, they have a good variety of pain killers, shampoo, soap and lots of other things.

The staff seemed polite and for a first time visitor of Bodycare I left happy as they did have a wide range of products for great value. If you are looking for Body products in the Manchester Arndale, I would recommended this large, cheap shop which is located next to WHSmith and near to Thorntons and EE.

I have visited this shop a few times now and I have also found a good range of soap products here.

UPDATE: After some consideration, including that the queuing system can often leave customers waiting slightly longer, and the design of the store, appearing to get as many products as they can, rather than spacing them out and making it into a modern, cool store, really lowers my opinion of this store, hence I feel a 3 star rating is more deserved.

White, musk, oil, perfume !!
Its been quite a while since ive been able to get to your shop, through health problems !!
anyways I can't wear perfumes as I have breathing difficulties, !! but can definitely wear the white musk oil, it smells wonderful and lasts forever, !! Could you please contact me on this number to let me know if you can post sum to me,

We're told every day that sunning ourselves and jumping in tanning booths is baaad, m'kay? It's bad for our skin, it wrinkles us, it sends us blind, it kills puppies for every minute we spend in UV light. So how do we achieve that year-round glow we all covet so ardently? I myself have found self-tan moisturiser to be something of a solution. But have you seen the price of the stuff? It costs about a fiver in Boots for a measly little bottle.

Fear not, because I have seen the light. I have visited Bodycare. And Bodycare, like Home Bargain, is a complete miracle for the budget shopper. Here your self-tan moisturiser will cost you between 99p and £1.99 for decent sized bottles. They even do a Palmer's Cocoa Butter version... that DOESN'T smell weird. Instead of smelling of rotting biscuits like most of them, it smells of hot chocolate and coconut. Nom. And that's not all. Here you will find all manner of shampoos, conditioners, cotton wool balls, lotions, potions, bath foams, pills, vitamins, condoms, face packs, I could go on forever... most being ludicrously underpriced. So after this, why would you shop at Boots? For the advantage points of course, I do like Boots. And if you want mega designer expensive salon brand hair stuff, you're unlikely to find it in here.

But if like me you have a mass of unruly wavy hair that every day manages to make you feel like you want to lop it all off, a great range of products is available. Myself and the brunette (who naturally has corkscrew hair but fights it with the GHDs on a daily basis) have a favourite. A brand of hair stuff - shampoos, conditioners, pastes, protectors, sprays, everything - under the label of Urban Therapy: Twisted Sista, is fantastic. The brunette tried my products when she stayed over and after falling in love with them ('NOTHING ELSE has made my hair feel this good!' she waxed lyrical, almost becoming an automatic spokeswoman for the brand), almost fainted when she realised they were all 99p each in Bodycare. This is the poor girl who spends around £9 on shampoo to try and tame her curls. I could be the Beauty Martin Lewis. 'Emma-Louise Howard, Beauty Money-Saving Expert.' Nice ring to it.

In conclusion, if you're off on holiday? Bodycare. It's got the insect repellents, the painkillers, the anti-histamines, the SPF 50, the LOT. Need to stock up the bathroom shelves with some nice bubbles, bath bombs and flannels? Bodycare. Actually, anything you need for the bathroom or indeed the vanity table, you should pop in here and feel very smug about the money you're saving.

Love the shop but Not the customer service!!!

Staff need more training... Or they will loose more customers like myself.

I work in the arndale centre, so I know the level of customer service that is expected.. And bodycare did not even reach the bench mark.. horrendous.

The staff behind the till didn't stop their personal conversation at all through the whole of my till transaction... No hello.. No goodbye.. I had to interrupt her to ask for a bag, which she frowned at. I'm sorry but this is totally unacceptable.

This experience left me feeling angry and not wanting to return to this store. If it wasn't for me starting work shortly after I would have complained to the manager.

Bodycare is one of those shops that makes people's jaws hit the floor.

I don't know where they get their stock or how they keep their prices so low but they basically sell leading beauty products for a fraction of the price of other retailers. Admittedly, a large section of the store seems to be devoted to holiday products like sun lotion, after sun, self tanning moisturisers, wipes and travel size toiletries but there's also a helluva lot of hair and body products from shampoos, conditioners and serums to foundation and hand cream.

If you're after a Benefit Bad Gal eye-liner, head to Boots. If you're after controlling your locks, stocking up on bubble bath or toothpaste - head here.

Body care is located in the Arndale Centre. Sounds not a branded products very cheep. Staff are very helpful and friendly. If you've never been in this store it is worth giving it a try.

Everyone thinks that pound stores are the place to find the cheapest stuff money can buy, but in there everything is a pond (doh, obviously) whilst in Bodycare some things are even cheaper. WOW.

A shop full to the brim with toiletries, there is a lot of cheap and nasty stuff at dirt cheap prices, but for the essentials such as mouthwash, deoderant etc you can just pop in here and save yourself a fortune, which you can then go and spend on more important products that claim to make you look younger in 10 days somewhere else.

The stock can be pretty rubbish, but they do have a good range of branded vitamins and a few interesting bits and bobs if you have a rummage. Everyone else also thinks they're onto a good thing here so the queues can be crazy long at times, but luckily they go down as fast as they build up.

Plus, as if all that wasn't enough, they play a massive selection of 90's cheese for you to do your shopping to and that my friends is priceless.

This Arndale store is a relative newcomer (the chain used to be called 'Grahams' back in the 90's when Mr. Graham and John Menzies happily traded away the hours in most town shopping centres) which stocks all life's non-edible essentials from bleach to make-up to toilet roll.

The prices in this store are bargain-basement although many products are big brand names. This kind of value attracts the kids of frenzied shoppers who will fill their baskets to bursting point with all things glittery and coconut scented and clog up the queue for at least 10 minutes.

If you want the bargains, you will have to wait for them. That aside, products such as toothbrushes, face wipes and cotton wool will easily cost you treble in other shops - even the pound shop in some cases. Go on a yearly basis, fill your basket, revel in thrifty-ness.

I cannot lie; I love a good bubble bath. I can spend hours in Boots opening and sniffing every bottle of bubble bath on the aisle before deciding that given my rate of usage when it comes to bubble bath, it's daft to spend any more than a couple of quid on what will equate to maybe three baths-worth. That's where Bodycare comes in. Their range of Radox, Palmolive, Imperial Leather and Original Source bubble baths and shower gels is incredibly wide, and all at around £1 a bottle! Awesome. As well as this multitude of bathery, you will find a great section of deodorants, and a huge selection of incredibly cheap cotton wool. There is also a section of hair products, with products like Elvive and Fructis selling for at least a quid less than anywhere else.

The stock in Bodycare is not all amazing; they have a lot of cheapo makeup that I just won't touch because when it comes to slap, I like a quality product. They also have some pretty dire looking products in the face-care section. And usually I'd steer clear, but their eye-makeup removing wipes (I forget the brand name, but they're in a green packet) are really good, and for £1.36 for two packs of 25 wipes, amazing value.

One thing that always makes me giggle about Bodycare is their range of perfumes. Though they'll occasionally have a nice fragrance like D&G Light Blue, it's totally dominated by dubious celebrity perfumes. So, you can expect Calum Best's aftershave, or a 'special edition' of Britney's latest smell. It always gives me a laugh anyway, but maybe that's because I am a huge snob when it comes to fragrance.

If you want stuff to wash yer bod or yer hair or yer face, it's well worth popping in to Bodycare whenever you're in the Arndale, because the stock changes often, and you never know what awesome bargain you could pick up.

Cheap & cheerful store selling a large range of toiletries & sun care products. The prices here are at least half what you would pay in either a supermarket or a large chemist like Boots. Brand name shampoos & deodorants 99p, and Piz Buin sun creams £4.99 for example. Great location in the heart of the Arndale.
