We always make a point to come here while in Bamberg. Love the extensive tapas menu, many veg options, and seafood, and my meat loving friends like the ham and meat options. Great ambience. I love the outdoor patio (it's a courtyard and has plants and is attractive). I think there are outdoor heaters in cooler weather. The terrace is a smaller raised platform inside the courtyard, it might be covered which would be nice in case of rain. I have never eaten inside the restaurant building as I'm usually there in nice weather and love the patio. Service is friendly, there is nice wine and some decent beers. I am usually dying to go here after days of German kitchens where my veg options are so limited. Highly recommended. Everyone I know who has been here has loved it. The building was once a brewery and is in Old Town Bamberg and on your way to/from the beer kellers on Oberer Stephensburg.

I've only been to Bolero twice. This is definitely a tourist destination in Bamberg. Mainly by the American high schoolers. I went there once and there was a bunch of teenagers getting drunk and throwing up. So not my scene. However, the tapas are so-so. Bolero doesn't have a wide range of tapas to choose from. I ordered a banana daiquiri once, that however was delicious. This place is definitely more known for their cocktails, not their food.

Paid 60euro per person for New Years Eve, 5 course meal. We were told to be there No later then 1830. The first (1 slice of raw Salmon) plate didn't make it out until 1930. We thought the main meal was suppose to be Filet Mignon Steak, but to our surprise, it was 2 small slices of Roast Beef. Although it tasted great, I was not there to pay 120 Euros for a main meal of Roast Beef. The Potatoes that came out with the main meal were cut in a perfect square, giving the idea that it came from a pre made pan, and tasted HORRIBLE. I told our waiter (Mario) about it and to try to fix the problem, he gave my wife and I a shot (Although it was New Year's, we didn't really care for a shot of alcohol to reconcile given we were drinking wine and not in our younger years anymore!). The dessert finally showed up at 2330 and it was a little chunk of ice cream and some terrible panna cotta that we didn't even eat. So from 1750 to 2340, 120 Euros for the meal, 85 Euros for our drinks, 1 free shot, and a not so good meal, we will never do this again with this place.
On a side note, we have been here several times on regular occasions. The side dishes are great. Their steak is very very good and we always love eating the same thing here. Worth a shot to try it once or twice.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Jenni R.Morgantown, États-Unis55246 déc. 2011
GREAT STEAK. Argentinian Steaks made for an absolutely fabulous dinner. They were flavorful and cooked just right. As for the tapas, we had some kind of spicy sausage, and several other tapas. The food was hot, flavorful, and well made. Having drank margaritas there, I cannot speak for their bier selection, but my boyfriend loves it. Definitely worth the trip, and the ability to reserve a table far in advance was wonderful.
