I was in Palm Springs for a client meeting when my laptop completely died. (A nightmare when you are away for business) I was going to have to reschedule my appointment when I found Hegarty Computers from the ad in yellow pages in my hotel room. Bill came to the hotel and fixed my laptop. It was the power supply. I can not thank him enough for getting me out of a really bad situation. The whole trip would have been a waste. I will recommend them to everyone

I have personally had experience with Hegarty Computers Services. I needed a replacement laptop in a hurry. Mr. Hegarty was able to replace my broken-down laptop with a refubished machine that his services had upgraded and loaded with current viable programs (word, excel... etc) actually making the refubished computer BETTER than the one that broke down!
Hegarty Computer Services is efficient, prompt in connecting for appointments and extremely knowledgable in the industry. I have had a great experience in working with Hegarty Computer Services... and we all know how frustrating it is dealing with computer issues. Hegarty Computer Services took much of the stress out of the situation for me.

I called Mr. Hegarty when my laptop would not boot up after the hard drive died. To his credit, he was on time for a 9am appointment. However, my dissatisfaction comes in two forms. (1) his rather unprofessional manner of communications. He was not rude or offensive, but referring to a client as "man" and "bro" and "brother" instead of by name is something I would expect of a college student, not a mature adult professional. More importantly, after my laptop was taken to his shop for his tech team to repair, I received a call from Mr. Hegarty telling me the laptop was ready for me. Instead of delivering it back to me at home or arranging for me to get it at his office, he suggested we meet at a fast food restaurant so he could hand it over to me. It was busy in there and not at all a proper place to conduct business. I felt awkward having my laptop setup and booted up at the lunch counter while people walked around us, not to mention having to pull out my checkbook right then and there to pay him. There was never an exchange of paper... I was not issued a written estimate, and I was not given a receipt for my payment. Again, unprofessional.
(2) Once I got the laptop home I saw that there was an unfamiliar screen that would pop up for a minute with every boot-up. I texted Mr. Hegarty about it and his text response was, "My tech says theres [sic] no way around that screen. He tried to disable it." I was disappointed with this short and incomplete response to my concern, and replied that for the several hundred dollars I paid for the computer repair, the least I deserved was a phone call with a proper explanation. He said he'd get back to me, but I never heard back. I resorted to posting photos of the computer screen on my FaceBook profile, asking the world if there was anyone out there who recognized what was happening, if it was problematic, and if the mystery screen was able to be removed. I received a more professional and complete explanation and reply from near strangers on FaceBook than I did from Mr. Hegarty.
I do not doubt Mr. Hegarty's technical knowledge or that of his team, but his lackadaisical manner of communicating and conducting business leaves me very dissatisfied. Would rate them as a minus 10 if I could. Charged $975 for a $300 pc. Did not even set up the pc so it worked with the printer. Took old pc without downloading the info to the new pc. Prey on senior citizens so BEAWARE OF FRAUD!! VERY FRAUDULENT!! A total scam! Use at your own peril.
