Hotel Zoo Berlin

Situated in the heart of Berlin the hotel couldn't have been more central to the shops and underground. The rooms are clean yet basic, although that didn't matter to us as we were out exploring Berlin for most of the day. The staff were very friendly and helpful.

It has a strange vibe. The lobby is extremely nice, but the hallways are lit by different colored lights. I felt like I was in some kind of weird dream when I stayed here. The first room we got ended up having a backed up drain in the bathroom, which was no fun, but the hotel staff were extremely nice in dealing with us and gave us another room which was actually better. The breakfast buffet was very good. There are just some strange things about this hotel that throw me off. Things like the colored lights, the fact that you have to leave your key at the front desk when you go out, and the fact that the maid will come in even if you put up the "do not disturb" sign.
