This place is definitely not closed!

JaVa's Cyber Espresso Bar is a wonderful addition to the meager coffee shop scene in Gahanna and ranks as my current favorite. JaVa's serves Crimson cup, which I've mentioned before is one of the best (and local!) coffees. The menu at JaVa's is fairly standard as far as coffee shops go, but it's the Crimson Cup that takes this place to the next level.

JaVa's is hidden away in a semi-strip mall amongst a skin care clinic, a funeral home, and some random offices, but from the inside, you'd never guess. The decorations give the place a good vibe, and the owners and employees only add to the ambiance with friendliness and good natured chat.

JaVa's is probably the largest of the non-chain coffee shops in Gahanna, so you never feel like your physical personal space is being invaded. The only complaint I have is that it can be a bit echoey, and with louder customers it still _feels_ like you're sitting right next to them--You can hear every detail of their conversation no matter where they sit!

An interesting difference between JaVa's and the other coffee places around is the "Cyber" part--There are 4 computers available for use at per-minute rates. While most people bring in their laptops, one extremely convenient thing I noticed is that they also have a printer available. Awesome.

Free wifi: Check. Comfy seats: Check. Friendly and attentive baristas: check and check. Head to JaVa's for a wonderful coffee experience, and if you see a guy sitting on a comfy chair and working feverishly on his laptop, be sure to say hi!

Java's Cyber Espresso Bar is one of those places you drive past a million times and think "I should stop there" but never do because it's easy to forget. But if you live in Gahanna make yourself remember because it's a great afternoon alternative to the noisier Caribou and the cramped Starbucks.

The wifi is free and steady, the seats are comfortable and you don't feel like you're stacked on top of each other and the cranberry orange muffins are to die for! I would take one of them over a cupcake anyday.

I've never seen it crowded, but a steady stream of people drop in and out so you don't feel all alone either. The staff is nice and unobtrusive and I've never gotten the feeling that they were trying to run me off after an hour, which can happen at Panera.

All in all, this is a great alternative to the other options in Gahanna, so if you're a local give it a try.

I've only had coffee from here twice, and both times it was terrible. The first drink I got from here was a Cafe Mocha. It was lukewarm, tasted terrible, and there were coffee grinds in it.

Today I decided to make a return trip. I tried the Vanilla Latte. Again, the drink was lukewarm, tasted terrible, and there were coffee grinds in it. I also bought the same drink for a colleague. She took one sip and could not drink anymore, she said it was awful.

I would not recommend this place for coffee.

Saturday Mornings are for finding a new coffee shop for me. This one is definitely a little too far for my usual Saturday Morning stop. But, I love my BOGO and I was meeting someone in Gahana @9, so this place came onto my radar.

The place is behind a funeral home and tucked in with an office park. It is something that one could miss. It has a drive-thru so i am guessing it makes its money off of the housing development across the street on mornings as they go to work. I did not check the time and pulled in at 7:30 am. I was a little shocked that it was not open earlier on a Saturday Morning. My wife laughed and said only I could get to a coffee shop too early. I killed time by checking out any other options close by, but returned a few minutes before 8 and the open sign was on. The Barrista looked like he wished he would be closing instead of opening. The coffee was brewed and I ordered the house blend (Crimson Cup). I ordered a chocolate chip muffin with my free part. The muffin looked like it was there from the day before. he warmed it up in a microwave and it was ok. It was not made there and seemed to be your run of the mill muffin. The medium coffee cost $2 and was hot.

I sat at a table and was one of three customers who came inside before 9 am, so i understand why they open at 8. It seemed like a coool place with 2-3 computers there for use and a good sound system throughout the place. It looked like they could have a place for someone to sit and play music in the evenings. They had a few comfy chairs to sit in along with 7-10 tables. I liked the simplicity of the place but I probably won't have a reason to go back. It doesn't quite have the ambiance of a place I could work for 3 hours straight with enough bustle to keep me distracted during my processing time. It also has some stiff competition from the corporate boys down the street.
