Keys 4u Locksmith

Avoid this company. Following a burglary yesterday at my property, Allservices4u sent a Locksmith from "Briggs Locksmiths" Huddersfield.

The locksmith arrived with a really poor attitude like I was a huge inconvenience to him, he stunk of B.O, he complained that parking across the road was not ideal because "I'll have to carry my tools" and charged me £58.80 for the call out and £30 to replace the lock in the front door.

He also quoted me £100 labour and £100 for the lock if I wanted the back door lock replacing as well however, because of his poor attitude I refused.

The following day crime prevention officers came to give advice for additional security in my home, the lock he installed was rated level 0 and wasn't insurance approved as well as the lock installed was the wrong size meaning an opportunistic thief could have easily broken the lock and gained entry to my property.

I had to call out a reputable locksmith today to replace the lock in the front door as well as the back door and charged me £60 less then I was quoted yesterday for the back door and only £85 for the front door which now has a level 3 insurance approved lock.

I ordered some keys from Keys4U Locksmith. The keys were sent in a letter envelope which broke during transport meaning one third of the keys were missing. I contacted the company straight away and kept doing so for a month. I called, emailed, sent whatsapp messages, left voicemails... I have yet not received an amicable solution to the issue. I have used another company to change the lock as Keys4U Locksmith did not help me in this regard either. The customer service of Keys4U Locksmith stops responding once they have taken your money. I do not recommend this company.

Avoid.

I called at 18:03 locked out, quoted 30 minutes.
I called back at 18:40, said 15 more minutes.
I called back (again) at 19:15, 15 more minutes.
Finally called at 19:30 to just cancel it.

Called another service (the lock co) and they were at my doorstep in 9 minutes flat. Skip this joke of a service! Every time I called back they acted like I was being entirely unreasonable for expecting them to arrive in the time frame promised. They told me the locksmith would call me to give an estimation on time (he never did) and overall, just not a company I'd ever call again to do business with.

Absolutely shocking rip off merchants. Firstly they claim to be in Mayfair but the office is in Barnet. It appears that this is a shoddily run company - you call them up and they won't discuss any complaints with you on the phone. From how I have been treated it appears its a few people on the end of the phone that subcontract the work to unprofessional individuals. My elderly parents are locked out of the house and they called Keys4u and were quoted on the phone for £59 call out and £89 for the lock. They ended up getting charged £1,500 by an aggressive man who never once told them the cost of what he was putting in. They are 80 years old it was cold and dark and my parents are very vulnerable. Even Banham only charge £120 for a lock. The lock that was put in by Angelo was a cheap unnamed lock, Angelo did not give my parents a receipt only credit card slip. I'm also aware that this is a big security risk that they don't track the locks, basically I have no idea if Angelo has a copy of the keys to my parents house. I have subsequently spoken to the office via email and they say that they have no idea what locks the technicians put in the door, they have no tracking of their stock, basically they can be putting in £10 locks and charging £1000 for them and the head office didn't seem to mind. I've tried to contact them to resolve this and just keep being told to talk to someone else and being fobbed off. I'm very frustrated and have applied to rip off Britain, I've contacted trading standards and action fraud to see if I can get some help with this. From the other reviews I'm not the only person that has happened to. It needs to stop its not fair that the company is allowed to charge whatever they feel plucking prices from thin air and giving shoddy service. I hope this does not happen to anyone else.

Service was all right, I have to say. BUT

They charged us £150 for a £15 lock taking advantage of being not aware of the prices of locks on the market - as we were in a hurry we didn't have a chance to check the real price of the lock and as we believed the technician who showed himself as someone trustworthy we accepted the price.

It took me a week to get a hold of the manager going through phone operators who sometimes just hung up on me being rude and unhelpful.

When finally I got a hold of the office manager she argued that they didn't do anything wrong and I have to understand that those are their prices. They don't give out pre-quotes though, not on the phone or in email.

Please be careful while dealing with them and be aware of what you ask for.

Absolutely dreadful service.

We had organized for them to come in and change quite a few locks in our office, and the level of professionalism shown was diabolical. The man they sent couldn't quite work out how to open the front door (it wasn't locked), I took him upstairs to show him the work we wanted done and he couldn't have been more dismissive, rude and unprofessional if he tried. He grunted at us that he wouldn't do this, he wouldn't do that, and when asked politely 'Why?' he just repeated that he wouldn't do it.

He was a locksmith. That wouldn't change a single lock.

We are now under the impression that he simply couldn't be bothered, or didn't feel it was worth his time to go and pick up the right locks. As a business, we ordered a service to be completed. We were relying on that service being carried out. He was being absolutely ridiculous. He left having completed absolutely nothing, and we were stunned into silence by the whole incident.

We are absolutely disgusted with this company and the way they have treated our business. I recommend that you never, ever use them. Find literally anybody else - you've got a 9/10 chance that they will actually change a lock for you, not like these time-wasters.

Called Keys4u. Locked out. So called locksmith turned up. Told me he had to drill lock. Told him I done it before and all the locksmith done was go though letterbox and knock handle down. Should have been a 30 second job. He told me he didn't have anything to do that and showed me his tool case full of screwdrivers. He was Romanian. Alarm bells started going off in my head. Drilled lock but still could not get in. Started forcing the door. Took him 40mins to force door open. He changed the cylinder telling me it was a unpickable, undrillable lock which is a complete lie. Was just a standard cylinder. He damaged my latch, won't come out anymore. Damaged my letterbox also which he glued. This was not a locksmith. Rip off Company.. Charged me £350

Stated that someone would be there within 20minutes and it would be £70 to fix the lock. 1 hour later the guy arrived, poked a screwdriver in the lock and said the lock was "proper f***ed" and that I'd have to get a whole new locking mechanism.

Then he stated that the mechanism would be £300 plus labor to fit and tried to justify this by saying that most locks are made by small Indian firms that no longer exist so there is no way to repair it.

I wisely ignored the guy paid him £50 for his 20minutes he spent at the property (mostly spent trying to scare me in paying him another £400 to replace the lock) and brought a replacement lock (whole mechanism with multiple locking points) at Wickes for £70 and fitted it myself.

They came out to fix my door mechanism in January 2016. It cost me almost £500. It then broke at the beginning of August and I was told (very rudely) that it is 6 months after they've done the work and therefore they will charge me again. Customer service hung the phone up on me and it took their management 2 days to get back to me on an e-mail. The locksmith that did help help told me it should not have been half the price I paid. Please do not use them!!!

My mother got locked out as can happen. My brother rang up was quoted one price with Vat if had lock another with Vat if I buy lock from them labour would be cheaper. Bought lock form them (bought from them overcharged me they did and was not cheaper at all, repair guy said don't buy locks from net. Not even B&Q? Really) didn't believe anyway he thought we knew nothing.

Didn't like my brother checking prices on net of his locks? Some never heard of but were expensive.

Anyway got job done came to over £100 the locksmith pulled out calculator and added VAT. My elderly mother forgot to ask for receipt. So I called a few hours after the job was done to ask if me or my brother could pick up a receipt on a week day as it was weekend. Was told no receipt can be given. Really? after being charged VAT and being told the lock has 10 years warranty. Where is my mothers proof of purchase to say She's had the lock for 10 years or when I purchased etc?!.

I will be getting a receipt for my mother as this not acceptable at all.. Watchdog may need to help me if they do not produce it or comply with my request for it. Timing was fine but prices changes and charging with vat to then say no receipt smells fishy to us. Skeptical of these lot personally.

Attitude after getting your money certainly changes. Beware. Tooting branch this was, just happy my mother is now safe with the extra lock we added.
