Louisiana House of Pancakes

Much like others, I arrived at this location, with my mother, hoping to receive a nice meal. What I got instead was poor customer service and an experience that still leaves me with a bitter taste in my mouth.

To start with, there was only one server on duty, causing us to have to wait 10 full minutes to be given a table. We mentioned to the server that we had to attend an event, and that we would like to order straightaway and eat quickly. She said we could and vanished for the 10 minutes before showing us to a table.

The furniture was dirty - our table was so covered in sauce that the menu was actually stuck to the table, as well as my seat touching the radiator, resulting in an unbearable burning sensation throughout our entire wait. The seats were also highly stained.

At this point, we had been waiting for roughly 25 minutes, and we had not even ordered. At this point, we had to leave due the aforementioned event.

It is, however, worth noting that many people around us had left a large amount of their portions on their plates (and the free coffee appeared to have been congealing for quite some time) - seems the food may not have been that good anyway.

Finally, on the printed menus in the restaurant, the "10 minutes or your order is free" promotion has been removed, simply stating their goal to complete your order in 10 minutes. However, this has not been removed from the copy on their website.

Overall, this was an appalling experience and I must tell everybody who plans on visiting here this: don't risk it unless you have about an hour to spare and nothing else to do.

I had high expectations of this place but boy was I very disappointed! Firstly the place is very shabby looking over all. It took us 3 attempts to find a clean table as every table had sticky sauce on it, the chairs/bench seats had cushion seat pads which had old spillages on them. My kids ordered the chocolate orange crepes which were cold and were so sickly sweet. We ordered 2 milkshakes and they came after the kids finished their crepes.....I had a coffee which was self service you were handed a mug and told to basically do it yourself, my mug was also dirty and the coffee wasn't hot. I won't be back anytime soon in my opinion give it a wide berth!

Terrible service.... our order was wrong, despite being read back the order and correcting the servers mistake. Then food came out late, and wrong . Told one of the servers that the order was wrong and what we had origionally ordered; he came back with a reciept saying "this is what you ordered" I explained that I had already corrected this order at the desk and wanted my chips. SO, he came back with a napkin and removed hash browns from my partners plate with his bare hands and dumped a box of chips on the table.

I questioned the time it took, as they have a "served in 10 mins or the food is free, policy" the server said "you were told it would be more than 10 mins" (which I wasnt) then said "its only 1 minuite late anyway" (it was actually 7 mins late)

My food was disgusting.... sausage was cheap and burnt so I didn't touch my food at all. 30 mins go past and I'm still sat there with a full plate of food in front of me while servers pass by multiple times.

NOT ONCE did anyone ask if everything was ok (which clearly it wasnt)

Really disappointing service and poor quality of food, would never go back in there.

Flat out awful. Walked in and the staff seemed to be unhappy that we were interrupting their conversation. Asked for waffles, told there weren't any. This is weird considering waffles and pancakes have the same ingredients. Coffee was self service and cold. Maple syrup was not maple syrup and tasted strange. Place looks run down.

My first visit and I won't be rushing back. Being American, I know what real maple syrup tastes like and I did not get that today. It was like the syrups you buy in the shops that say maple syrup, but are actually a mixture of maple and golden syrup. I was also disappointed by the plastic cutlery (not easy to cut bacon in a stack of pancakes with a plastic knife) and the paper cups/plastic lid and straws for water. My tea cup was chipped and the milk came in a large pouring thermos that we had to share with the table behind us! There is no customer service at all. The pancakes and the bacon tasted good, but I imagine the pancakes are made from a pre-mixed box you can buy in Costco.
