Nishat was tried after an impromptu pub visits and attack of the curry craving. its not our usual and thought we'd branch out after a couple of bad batched from said regular.

Nishat is fairly quiet though many places are mid week. we ordered and they were friendly and rounded the price down :) was much appreciated.

I went to the shop quickly and was still a good 10/15 min wait ... could decide at the time if that was a god or a bad thing!

My partners curry was richer and sweeter than he imagined so although it was enjoyed it didn't quite hit as many of the intended buttons- when trying any new place it takes trial and error.

My curry was just to oily for me, i am fairly sensitive to over oily curry i really don't like it and makes me feel quite unwell it was a good flavor and actually when we mixed the two curries together with rice it was better but not really ideal when you pay someone to cook for you. they did give us a free poppadom which again was much appreciated

i will try it again and make more specific requests so if you the type that enjoys trying places out and enjoying different ways people cook curry then go for it :)

      happy eating

It's great value, it's tasty, it's authentic: it's Nishat Tandoori. Serving an assortment of Indian and Goan dishes Nishat is one of the better places to go if you're looking for a takeaway with a bit of spice and originality. For a decent meal you're looking at around £10 per person excluding drinks and you get free delivery within 2 miles if your order is over that amount. All their chicken dishes use breast meat, which means all the cuts are of decent size and tenderness and this is the same with all the meat dishes. Whilst Nishat Tandoori isn't the best place in town it should certainly qualify to be in your list of takeaway options.

Incredible value - most curries are just around £5 each! Specialising in Goan dishes, and other regional specialities, Nishat provide mouth watering, fresh tasting authentic Indian dishes for take away only. They're a great Friday night in, but expect an hour wait during busy times. Trust me its worth it! My favourites are the Caldine, and Sag Paneer. Yum :-)

Have you eaten at Nishat Tandoori? If not, look it up next time you're ordering a curry. I assure you it'll be good and may even become your regular. It serves various Goan and Indian dishes all cooked to perfection and, as it's usually about £10 per head, it's great value. As far as takeaways go this place competes with most and the free delivery service within 2 miles certainly helps. Preston Street may be famed for the quantity of restaurants situated on it, however Nishat Tandoori and another Q word to that equation: quality.

okies i have been searchin for a good vindaloo for a few years now in Brighton....a friend who is a chef recomended this to us so we thought wed give it a try....the food cost what you expect to pay for it....but for me hands down it was my fav vindaloo i have had so far....i asked for the lamb to be tender and it was....unlike places like Empire Tandori which have insulted me for the last time with there rock hard overcooked lamb and really rude staff taking orders (use to live opposite them and supported them for a while but there standards have gone down so much since i used to like them years and years ago)...anywayz...the prawns from this place were the most tender king prawns i have ever had and the vindaloo had as much flavour as it did hotness....perfect for me ;) only bad thing was the food took 2 hours to arrive :O...they called us up after 1h and 40 minutes saying the delivery driver had broken down which i thought was a load of monkey balls but they did send our food to us in a taxi shortly after xD
so even though it took wwaaaayyyy to long to arrive i have to give them 4 star...coz the food was just that good for me....nuff said x
