Pardoe & Wood

Pardoe & Wood is doing some good lunch options, including hot broths with various fillings (e.g. prawn and chilli, with rice noodles), fancy scotch eggs and a whole variety of appetising-looking salads and sandwiches. I had a superfood salad which made me feel so virtuous - I really think I should get a prize every time I eat seeds. It's maybe slightly more expensive than the bigger chains but not markedly and you're getting food that's a little more interesting and better made.

I tried the cake too (lime and coconut) which had quite a nice flavour but was a little bit on the dry side. The next day I went back and saw the rest of it was still there, which explains why. I'm certainly not pro throwing food out but if it's sat out all day it's not going to last well.

The decor is really nice which makes it very pleasant to sit in, they even have comfy armchairs (every chair should be an armchair). There's a few seats outside too.

My experience today: Very greasy / oily soup and very bad customer
service. I did not even get an apology for having to return some horrible
food, they were busy chatting to each other. I will not be going back.
