Shocking customer service, wasted a week of my life with these people trying to get a simple item printed. AVOID.

Printed.com completed another batch of 100 postcards for me just before Christmas. I really like their online ordering facility. This time, because I was in a hurry I didn't choose to get them laminated - that can add extra time onto the job. I have to say it seemed to make a significant difference because for some reason the batch of cards I got back had little white specs where the ink didn't appear to stick very well. That's never happened before. Another odd anomaly was that the text from the reverse of the card showed up in reverse on the front. I have no idea how that occurred, but it was almost as if they had been pressed together too hard, although the ink hadn't actually transferred, it did somehow leave an impression that you could see under the light. I'm happy to report that Printed.com agreed to reprint the job for me when I sent them a photo of the problems. Strangely some of the new cards still had spot imperfections the second time around, so I am inclined to only get laminated postcards from them in the future. It's never happened before on cards that they've produced for me with lamination. I do like printed.com because they turn things around quickly, it's an excellent website and the price is very competitive on small print jobs, but this really wasn't their best work.

I particularly like their online ordering system that modifies the quote every time you adjust it, so you can tinker with it until you get the price that's right for you. Whether or not you decide to get them to print your cards, it's a very useful tool for comparing print prices with other suppliers. It's also easy enough to use that I was able to complete my order without having to call them up for help. And you can pay online via PayPal, which I quite like to do, instead of sharing my bank details online all the time. Printed.com are also the cheapest supplier I've found to date for printing small runs in multiple designs. A lot of printers don't even offer that as an option or like moo.com will charge a premium for the privilege. In terms of print quality I was very impressed with what I received and the quality of the cards was top notch, significantly better than Awesome Merchandise or Print24. I opted for 350gsm, Mat laminated on one side and I have to say they really did appear to be top quality. I don't usually like to laminate paper because it's so unsustainable but these cards did appear to be really high quality as a result. The print quality was on a par with Awesome Merchandise but significantly better than Print24 who seem to sort of produce cards that have had their brightness and contrast upped by about 10%. Over all I'd say Printed.com is currently my top budget printed postcard supplier.
