Here's the deal, I bought a sidekick today and I have it on the charger and I can't seem to turn it on. Its been on the charger for two hours and I can't even turn  the phone on while its on the charger. Is there something wrong with the phone? Should I go back in and see if there is something that can be done? Has anyone else experienced this with getting a new phone before?

Was the battery already installed when you picked up?  I'm only asking because with the last few phones I've purchased, the phone and the battery come in the box but they are packaged separately.

Otherwise, simply take it back to the place your purchased it from.  They should be able to help.

It's hard to find a good sidekick these days... seems everyone's just doing it for the cape.

Only thing you're going to get from a sidekick is problems.

I went through about 8 of them in the course of 2 years. They are a big waste of money for a big piece of crap.

Make sure that there's not a little piece of plastic inside the battery case in-between the connections and the battery.

Some consumer electronics do that to deliver a party-charged battery - but if it's there there's no way you'll get it to power on until you remove it.

Thanks everyone! I got the problem solved however new ones keep popping up with my phone. Like how to access the downloads and get new ring tones/ games ect. It also will not let me register the phone yet and I have turned it off and on a couple of times too. Sigh... They look so cool, but they are extremely complicated.

We had issues when we had our sidekicks....I think I had to hold the power button for a few min before it would come on...hopefully it works for you.

I've had to hold the power button on mine.
